Skating gives our children the mental and physical skills to become Champions in Life. I am dedicated to each skater, ensuring a fun and safe environment that is driven day-to-day by progress through practice and achieving personal excellence. I thrive to create vibrant, innovative, and nurturing environments through which people of all ages and abilities may discover the magic of figure skating.

Skating is my lifework and my passion.  My personal achievements in skating, education, not-for-profit management, and coaching, along with raising a family, provide a range of in-depth experiences that allow me to excel as a coach and Skating Director.  I bring energy, enthusiasm, and a passion for excellence to my coaching role and find myself happiest when I observe success in others, especially youth.    

As an Athlete:

  •  Two-time Canadian Bronze Medal Junior Champion

  • Top “figures” skater in the World, according to Mr. David Dore, President CFSA

  • Gold Figure Test

  • Gold Free Skate Test

  • Senior Competitive Test

Trained for 10 years under Canada’s top Olympic and National coaches, providing me an extremely enriched knowledge: Doug Leigh at Mariposa School of Skating; Ellen Burka, Osborne Colson, and Sheldon Galbraith at the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club; as well as Tommy Litz, and Gustav Lucy in Lake Placid, NY.

As a Coach: 

  • 27 years of coaching CanSkate, Star Skate, Competitive and International competition

  • Began my coaching career under the mentorship of Olympic and National Coach Mrs. Ellen Burka

  • Master’s Degree In Physical Health& Education, specializing in Sport Administration, Sport Sociology at Queen’s University

  • Skate Canada NCCP Provincial Coach Trained

  • Coach children to adults in: CanSkate, StarSkate, Competitive, Artistic, Dance, Skills, and Synchronized Skating Teams

  • Member of the Canadian Olympic Academy

  • Skate Canada Can Skate Certified

  • Star 6-Gold Skills Assessor (training in progress)

  • Star 1-5 Assessor Trained

  • Respect In Sport Completed

  • Ethics in Sport Completed

  • First Aid Trained
