Volunteer Commitment Program

It takes a village ….

As a non-profit organization, our Club is run and managed by a group of volunteers: the WSC Board, skaters and skaters' families. Our volunteer work is essential to the quality and success of this club; it also provides opportunities to learn about the sport of figure skating and about our Club, as well as to make connections within our skating community.

Volunteers do not have to be parents! We welcome neighbors, students and community-minded individuals who love figure skating and are looking to gain valuable experience.

Board of Directors

Thank you to our current Board of Directors who work with our incredibly talented coaches to keep the Whistler Skating Club moving forward and ensure its continued success. Terms of service are set at two years and Board committee work can be ad hoc or program based.

Volunteer positions to support the Club activities include:

• Grant Writer

• Test Chair, Star 1-5

• Special Event Coordinators (Starry Night, Celebration of Skating, End of Season Awards)

• Club Photographer  

• Can Skate Parent

• Music, IT

• Website Maintenance

• Skate Sharpening coordinator Junichi

• Media relations

• Social Media – Facebook and Website,  You Tube

• Music Player coordinator and a daily music player

• Skate Canada membership registrar

• Whistler Crystallites Synchronized Skating team support
